The Japanese company Lexus was founded in 1983 by Toyota Motors Corporation specifically to promote its cars on the US market, mainly luxury models. It is part of Toyota Corporation, luxury passenger cars, crossovers and SUVs are produced under it. Initially, the brand was aimed at the North American market, but over time, the geography of sales has expanded and now the Lexus brand is officially represented in the markets of more than seventy countries.
