The third generation Mitsubishi L200 debuted in 1996, similar in powertrain, layout and transmission to the Pajero. Later, the Mitsubishi Pajero Sport was created on the basis of the L200 pickup truck. In Thailand, a third-generation pickup truck was produced until 2006, in Brazil, the car continued to be made until 2012. Since the late 1990s, the Mitsubishi L200 has been officially sold on the Russian market.
